Linfohistiocitosis hemofagocítica secundaria a dengue en paciente pediátrico: reporte de caso

La linfohistiocitosis hemofagocítica (LHH) es una condición rara y potencialmente mortal caracterizada por la activación exagerada del sistema inmune. Puede verse en el contexto de varias condiciones como infecciones, enfermedades autoinmunes o cáncer. Para su diagnóstico requiere el contexto clínico y cumplir con los criterios propuestos por la Histiocyte Society en 2004. Su manejo se basa en el uso de dexametasona, ciclosporina A y etopósido. A continuación, presentamos el caso de un paciente masculino de 2 años con fiebre persistente, signos de choque y estudios compatibles con dengue grave que desarrolló como complicación LHH secundaria, el objetivo de esta presentación es la descripción de un caso poco frecuente en pediatría buscando que lector adquiera conceptos sólidos sobre LHH, su manejo y complicaciones.
